As a VJ, Daniella is still required to shoot, write and edit her story before scripting and driving over to the live location. Additionally, Daniella is trained to shoot her own lives if they occur outside of Winnipeg, with the use of a Beng Box.

It begins with a VO slated in the top block to entice viewers to stick around for the full story at 6:30 p.m. Then two minutes before the story airs, Daniella does one more tease into the break.

Shaw TV Saskatoon was the only team reporting live results for the 2012 Saskatoon Civic Election. Throughout the show, social media host Daniella Ponticelli updated followers online with the hashtag #yxevotes, compiled graphics to display tweets and finally, updated viewers with live hits from council chambers.
Daniella backfills as overnight VJ and morning traffic reporter for CTV Morning Live. The job starts at 1:00 a.m. and requires monitoring the scanner for breaking news; shooting and editing VO/SOTs for the morning show and reporting while driving the traffic cruiser throughout the three hour show.
Daniella is responsible for 12 live hits, operating the dejero for broadcast, as well as tweeting out traffic tips while being on call for shooting breaking news live. See her work in all weather, news and traffic situations below.
