Executive Producer | 2013 Cause for Paws Telethon

As a student in the Creative Communication program at Red River College, Daniella Ponticelli was fortunate enough to be a part of the first Live Television Production class. Working on the 9-hour live telethon for the Winnipeg Humane Society taught the budding broadcaster how to lead big productions and what is necessary to make them a reality.

That's why when Daniella moved to Saskatoon as Shaw TV's anchor/ producer, she was keen to take on the challenge of producing a telethon for the Saskatoon SPCA. It would be the first telethon produced in the city, in 15 years - and it wasn't without challenges. With only six months to pull it all together, Daniella managed the project from building sets, to facilitating volunteers; appearing on Global Saskatoon's morning show to promote the event. She was also the main content driver - shooting and editing on evenings and weekends to gether more than forty minutes of pre-produced content to run throughout the show.

The inaugural Cause for Paws telethon was broadcast live on June 2, 2013 for six hours. It raised $10,000 and saw eight animals adopted into new loving homes, including her own. After fostering a cat and kittens as part of her work with the telethon, Daniella adopted the momma she named Tonks.
